MEMORANDUM R, THE DIRECTOR:
This memorandum recommends action in paragraph 3.
1. Dick Harkness called to ask that you address the Overseas Writers
at a date suitable to you following the election. They have all of
November "open" except Wednesday, 21 November.
2. I told Dick that you are always delighted to appear before the
Overseas Writers where there are no leaks, and that I would pass on the
invitation.
3. RECOMMENDATION: That you accept the invitation but do not set a
date until the election result furore dies down and the world situation
is such that your talk will have great force.
