Dear Ms. Eddings:.
This is to confirm arrangements to date for CIA Director William J.
Casey's appearance on the TV-Seminar on terrorism directed by Fred Friendly
of the Columbia University Seminars on Media and Society/Graduate School of
Journalism. The Seminar is to be held on Saturday, 27 September, in the
Senate Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office Building. According to our
conversation, the Director is to be at the main entrance of the building on
1st and Constitution Avenue between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. where he will be
met and escorted to makeup before the video taping which begins at 8:30 a.m.
As we discussed, the Director does not give press interviews.
Due to a conflict in his schedule, Mr. Casey is unable to attend the
dinner on the 26th. As yet, we do not know whether Mrs. Casey will be present
for the program on the 27th. I will keep you informed on this. Enclosed as
you requested is a photograph and biography of the Director.
