MEMORANDUM FOR: Director, National Foreign Assessment Center
.FROM: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT: US Aid to Poland
1. I am inclined to your view. I think we should circulate
this to the principals at the.NSC meeting tomorrow.
2. Will you be able to get a telephonic reaction of the
relevant members of the Intelligence Community on the question of
whether we should help them with food and then let them go the
rest of the way and not get involved in supporting and trying to
manage their whole economy.
3. At the same time I would appreciate it if you would do a
one page covering memorandum setting out the two views in the
Intelligence Community. I would like this for the NSC principals
either tonight or tomorrow morning.
