MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, Arms Control Intelligence Staff, DI
FROM: Director of Central Intelligence
1. I (renewed his interest today in taking the intelligence
unit out of the Verification Bureau at ACDA and having it report directly to
the Director. He said to do this he would need us to provide or recommend
an intelligence officer who would perform this mission. What he really
wants is someone who can give him interpretation, mosaics, patterns, hunches,
etc.
