Dear Bud,
The Association of Former Intelligence Officers
is having its annual banquet at the Crowne Plaza in
Rockville on Saturday, 5 October, at 8:00 p.m. The
organization consists of retired people from the
military intelligence organizations as well as CIA.
It is a substantial and influential organization with
chapters in major cities around the country. The
annual banquet attracts members from all over the
country.
I spoke last year and found it a worthwhile and
impressive group ready to receive a signficant message.
They have asked the President to appear this year.
Although they haven't heard anything, they assume,
probably correctly, that he has not been able to fit
it in his schedule. They would like to get you to
speak at this year's banquet. Let me know if you
would be interested in considering it and I will pass
that on the AFIO so that you will or will not get an
invitation.
