Management of CAMS
1. Effective 1 February 1983 the-CAMS II Staff will be renamed the CAMS
Integration Staff and become the single focal point for managing the CAMS
(both I and II) hardware and software maintenance and development
activities. In assuming these responsibilities the CAMS Integration Staff
will have the following responsibilities:
o Provide management support to the operational CAMS I system.
o Manage the direction and tasking of all CAMS development and
maintenance resources.
o Review, evalulate, and coordinate through appropriate mechanisms,
RFCs and resolution of documented system discrepancies. This will be
accomplished through the Integration Team.
o Approve and prioritize through board mechanisms the implementation of
changes to CAMS (RFCs). This will be accomplished through the
COMIREX Staff CCB.
o Provide for the definition and specification of system requirements
and impacts for CAMS and interfacing systems. This shall include
currently operating systems as well as systems under development.
o Manage and coordinate the interface control documentation between -
CAMS segments and between CAMS and external data management systems.
o Coordinate the transition of changes to the operational system.
2. In light of these changes I want to review the 25X1
charter of the Integration Team, the ICCB, the Memoranda of Agreement with ODP
and CPO and the interactions with their CCBs. He should recommend changes

that should be made in light of this restructuring of responsibilities. In
addition, should focus on the development of a CAMS Configuration 25X1
Management-Plan that could provide the blueprint for the overall management of
CAMS maintenance and system development.
3. Also effective on 1 February 1983 the CAMS Management Branch of the
Operations Division will be renamed the CAMS Operations Branch (COB). This
Branch will continue to have responsibility for the operation of the CAMS
` system. This includes scheduling of CAMS operations and support to
operational users. 'In addition, COB will have the responsibility to determine
and document discrepancies of the operational system and to review and
coordinate software release plans. With regards to customer support, COB will
continue to manage CAMS security and system access, schedule terminal
installations and related communications, CAMS training and CAMS user manuals,
assistance and support.
4. The purpose of organizational changes for these two elements of the
COMIREX Staff is to provide more focus in managing-CAMS operations, software
maintenance-and system developmental activities. The purpose of renaming
these elements is to more accurately reflect their responsibilities.
