1. Thank you for bringing the problems associated with the
self-service Post Office to our attention. You are correct,
the Post Office has been experiencing problems with both the
money changing machine and with the stamp machine. A check
with the Postmaster in McLean discloses that the equipment,
which had been serviced twice a week, has recently received
only weekly attention. Interestingly, he also reports that
those machines receive an unusually high number of foreign
coins which cause problems.
2. In any case, the Postmaster has pledged his efforts to
both increase the frequency of service and to investigate the
age and condition of the machines to determine if replacement
is in order.
3. We will follow up with the Post Office and you should
see improvement shortly. Again, thanks for bringing this
matter to our attention.
