King Director of Logistics Central Intelligence Agency Washington, DC 20505 Dear Mr. King: DD/A F06' stry 'LJ Thank you for your letter dated January 10, 1985, concerning the use of the Scattergood Thorne tract of land adjacent to your Headquarters site. The Scattergood Thorne tract is inhabited in accordance with a life estate clause contained in the sale and purchase agreement under which the Government purchased the property in 1947. When the Government obtains the right to use the property, your agency's needs will be considered along with other requirements and the use of the site will be determined at that time. I do want to point out that the General Services Administration (GSA) does not know of any other requirements for the site, and the needs of the Central Intelligence Agency are our priority consideration. However, since GSA does not now have control of the site, making a firm commitment is premature. Sincerely, W { LIAM F.
