SUBJECT: CONGRESSIONAL ACTION ON DEBT CEILING
The timing of the Congressional deliberations relative to
the debt ceiling has raised in some minds the possibility
that Federal employees will face imminent furloughs from
work. I understand that some of the Washington news media
have carried stories to this effect. This memo is to assure
you that unless officially notified to the contrary federal
employees are expected to be in attendance at their
workplaces in a normal fashion. I will be providing this
same information to the news media.
