MEMORANDUM FOR: National Intelligence Officer for the USSR
FROM: Director of Central Intelligence
SUBJECT: USSR Leadership Today
If possible I would like to get your evaluation of the
Soviet leadership today, where they think they are, where they
think they will go derived from your own thinking as affected
by your participation in the Shultz session tomorrow which I
am passing up for you to be there. I am going to have to be
talking about this kind of thing in my meetings with Helmut Kohl
and Margaret Thatcher. If you will give me a quick note on your
thoughts it would be helpful.
