SUBJECT: Reorganization of the Office of General
Counsel
1. This is to formally confirm your approval of the
reorganization of the Office of General Counsel, as we have
discussed, which was initiated by some time
before he left. We want to do this to improve our management
structure by expanding the number of Associate Deputy General
Counsel positions to serve directly the Deputy General
Counsel and me as OGC senior attorney managers. These
officers, together with the Deputy General Counsel and me,
will serve as the Management Committee for the Office.
There will be an Associate Deputy General Counsel for each
of the following areas:
a. Administrative Law and Management Support
b. Operations Support and Procurement Law
c. Intelligence Law and Special Studies
d. Litigation and Community Affairs
2. The officers filling these positions will not have
formal deputies, but will be supported by division chiefs
who will report directly to them. One division chief in
each area will be designated to act for his respective
Associate Deputy in the absence. of that-officer. The overall
reorganizational structure and the proposed incumbents are
shown in the attachment.
