Thank you for sending.me a copy of your letter to
the Attorney General regarding the Scranage case and the
application of the Intelligence Identities Protection
Act of 1982. We are still very appreciative of the
efforts Congress made to give us the Identities Act, and
I would expect the Department of Justice to use it in
every applicable situation. But the call has to be the
Department's. Thanks again.

On July 11, 1985 Director Webster amounted the arrest of Ms. Sharon M.
Scranage, a Central Intelligence Agency employee, and Mr. Michel Agbotui
Soussoudis on charges of conspiracy to commit espionage in violation of
Section 794(c) of Title 18, United States Cade. The criminal complaint
afficavits of a Special Agent of the FSI filed in these cases in the U. S.
