SUBJECT-: DCI Breakfast for the Senate Appropriations
Defense Subcommittee on Thursday, 14 August
at 8:00 a.m.
Please see attached 13 August memo to the Director regarding
the Stevens breakfast, together with as accurate a guest list as
we can prepare at this time. Please note that the breakfast is
being held in the Executive Dining Room, not the Director's
Dining Room. Since the Senators will probably arrive between
7:50 and 8:00 a.m., it would be prudent to be present by 7:50.
Again, please do your best to make your briefings short.
The Senators have an extremely busy day ahead of them on
Thursday and must leave shortly after 9:00.
Finally, to repeat our overall objectives, we are responding
to Senator Stevens' request to give his colleagues a glimpse of
what we are doing well and, in the Direct ?r's remarks, to
explain why we are concerned about potential budget cuts.

SUBJECT: Your Breakfast for the Senate Appropriations
Defense Subcommittee on Thursday, 14 August
at 8:00 a.m.
We appear to be in good shape for this breakfast. The guest
list, including Senators and some of their staff, is attached.
The Executive Director, Deputy Directors, Comptroller, NIOs,
Office Directors, and Division Directors who are giving the
briefings and answering questions are prepared and ready.
Attached are talking points prepared for your opening
presentation.
The organization, topics, and format respond to Senator
Stevens own request. My only concern is that individual
briefers will exceed their allotted five minutes per topic, thus
throwing the entire presentation off sch Jule. Therefore, I
have asked everybody to keep an eye on the clock.
