1. The Intelligence Community has geared up to
monitor the recent flurry of Soviet activities, and
this SNIE is our first Community product. We expect
to be providing Memos to Holders on a frequent and
regular basis, and we very much welcome your sug-
gestions and insights.
2. To save you the trouble of pointing out a
mistake in this product, I can see that our use of
the phrase "US INF deployment" should in fact have
been "NATO INF deployment." This is a proofreading
goof, for which I apologize.
3. I have in hand the first draft of a think-
piece entitled, "The Idea of an Open World." I will
polish it a bit, and then get on your calendar to
come and talk about it.
