Preceding Week:

b. Representatives from the New Building Project Office (NBPO),)--6
OL, and Procurement Division, OL, will be in Detroit on 14 May to complete
the technical evaluation of carpet proposals received on 12 May. The
Agency is currently soliciting bids for some 760,000 sq.ft. of carpet for
the New Headquarters Building. The principal purpose of the trip will be
the evaluation of samples for color adherence to the building standard.
This evaluation will be done in the NBPO architect's lighting laboratory,
which will simulate lighting type and levels to be found in the New
STAT Headquarters Building.

C. r ?inn notified by the General Services AdminiMrtio.~}~
(GSA) on 9 May that the land use permit for the area behind theA o~`8r`Fool
(presently used for Contel trailers) expires on 31 May 1986, the New
Building Project Office (NBPO), OL, arranged for a one-year extension of
the permit. A copy of the amendment to the original agreement will be
forwarded by GSA to the Director of Logistics for signature.
d. N w Buildin Project Office (NBPO), OL personnel will be
STAT accompanying Interior Designer, FMD/OL, and a P&PD/OL
photographer to the Washington Design Center in downtown Washington during
this period to photograph a display of Corry-Jamestown workstations that
are representative of those to be installed in the New Headquarters
Building. The photos will be part of an upcoming briefing for those Agency
STAT components scheduled to occupy the New Headquarters Building.

e. The Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation (VDH&T)
has advised }''^ w OL, that it will
conduct its internal review of the 60 percent detai- engineering design
for the Agency's Route 123 Roadway Improvement Project on 5 June.:'
NBPO personnel will participate in the review, after which formal
notification will be sent to all Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) members
announcing the first of two remaining TAC reviews. ferfaal TAC review
will occur during either the second or third week of June 14Q4w,at a
STAT location to be selected by the community.
