SUBJECT: Weekly Report for Period Ending 27 June 1986
1. The Office of Logistics (OL) completed Phase II of the
Counterterrorist Center project, 2G corridor, Headquarters Building on
21 June, a week ahead of schedule.
2. The Office of Personnel continued the search for Operations Officers
throuriety of public relations activities. In the clerical recruiting
arena, ypists and stenographers qualified for further applicant
processing.
4. The gallery of photographs of Presidents under which the Agency has
served has been temporarily removed by OL for restoration.
7. On 23 June, 19 Budget Officers attended the first running of an OF
seminar designed to better acquaint them with the Agency's contracting
process. Close communications between Budget Officers and Logistics
Contracting Officers will be particularly important as we monitor contractual
commitments and obligations during the closing weeks of this fiscal year.

8. For the second consecutive week, the Office of Information Technology's
communications systems processed all message traf i ing each 24-hour
25X1 period. Average message volume was approximately each day, Monday
through Friday.
10. During 16 - 20 June, Professor Richard Pipes of Harvard presented the
second of the Soviet Realities Institute's seminars. He noted his belief that
the Intelligence Community does not pay sufficient attention to the historical
and ideological roots of the Soviet Union and advocated creation of an
institute to do this.
12. Office of Information Services personnel briefed ODCI and DI
representatives in preparation for the upcoming Information Security Oversight
Office document reviews.
13. Ten Security Officers attended the FBI's "Hostage Negotiation
Seminar," which is designed to prepare these officers to respond appropriately
during the first crucial minutes in a hostage-taking situation.
