h. Agency employees should have noticed recent increased activity
on the George Washington Memorial Parkway acceleration lane project. The 0 contractor has been working on the grading, landscaping, and drainage
t control on both sides of the median strip. On the morning of 10 June 1986
he contractor planted several trees at the north end of the barricade
wall. Stone delivery/availability apparently is still a problem as no
activity has been observed on the wall itself. It appears as though the
$500-per-day liquidated damages assessment invoked by the Federal Highway
STAT Administration is having some effect.

i. The scale model of the New Headquarters Building was recently
moved from its location at the intersection of the C and D corridors on the
first floor to a more prominent position replacing the Ecco Homo sculpture
in the D-E corridor. At the June meeting of the Fine Arts Commission
(FAC), concern was voiced over the long-term effect that sunlight will have
on the photographs and scale model that make up the exhibit. A suggestion
was made that the exhibit be relocated to the corridor leading to the
library where the Presidents' photographs are hung. The FAC will survey
the referenced area to determine if there is enough room for the exhibit.
