1. Events of Major Interest That Have Occurred During the
Preceding Week:

Processing Systems and peripheral devices in support of the Office of Information
Technology's and Defense Intelligence Agency's computing requirements. All units

* d. OL reports that a contract was awarded to Mr. Lawrence Ludtke in the
amount of o design, create, and install a bronze statue of General
William Donovan at the Headquarters building. The work will be accomplished in

four stages, with Agency approval on a 24-inch model and again on a life-sized
clay model. The finished statue is expected by 15 October 1988. 25X1

1. OL reports that the Transportation Management Branch, Logistics
Operations Center, made a comparison study of long-haul mileage for the period
1 April 1986 to 31 March 1987. Over-the-road vehicles have logged 149,420 miles in
the last six months, an increase of 19,946 miles over the prior six months.FI 25X1

m. OL reports that the DCI's office suite located in the Executive Office
Building was painted on 5 April by General Services Administration's White House
Work Group.

o. In order to reduce morning rush-hour congestion near the George
Washington Memorial Parkway entrance, CL reports that the traffic traveling around
the Headquarters compound ring road from the Route 123 entrance towards the west
parking lot area is being diverted through the north parking lot. The detour is in
effect from 0715 to 0900 hours and will last approximately two months. F__1 25X1
q. OL reports that a General Services Administration (GSA) representative
conducted an inspection on 2 April of the second-floor roof of the Headquarters
Building. The inspection concluded that the roof was in need of major repairs.
The estimated cost of these repairs is in excess of $1 million.

f. OL reports that there will be a total Headquarters compound
steam outage on Saturday, 11 April, from 0600 to 1500 hours. The purpose of
the outage is to perform work on the hot-water tank in the P&PD Building and
repair some steam leaks at the Central Plant and the Headquarters Building.
There will be a partial Headquarters Building power outage on 11 April from
2330 hours to 0430 on 12 April. The purpose of the outage is to make necessary
repairs to the electrical switchgear in the "D" vault, conduct maintenance, and
install one new power panel. The outage will affect all lighting and
receptacles. An Employee Bulletin was distributed.
