(S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: AN SS-17 ICBM FAILED DURING THE VERY EARLY STAGES OF FLIGHT FROM TYURATAM ICBM LAUNCH TEST SITE V8. 2. (S/D) REMARKS: THE MISSILE'S FAILURE IS INDICATED BY AN IMPACT AREA AND URGE BURN MARK APPROXIMATELY 2,000 FEET NORTH OF THE LAUNCH SITE. AN SS-17 LAUNCH ASSIST DEVICE (LAD) IS ENT ON BETWEEN THE SITE SECURITY FENCES. THE LAD WAS NOT PRES -- --T. A TT A?7 cn_MVDV VEHICLE, ARE ON THE APRON NEAR THE OPEN SILO DOOR.
