SARY SHAGAN MISSILE TEST CENTER LAUNCH COMPLEX B, USSR
1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: TRY ADD RADAR MODIFICATION AT SARY SHAGAN
MISSILE TEST CENTER LAUNCH COMPLEX B HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
2. (S/D) REMARKS:I I THE NEW RADOME HAS BEEN 25X1
PLACED OVER THE TRY ADD A RADAR. INITIAL MODIFICATION WAS
UNDERWAY WHEN THE OLD RADOME HAD BEEN LIFTED 25X1
OFF THE RADAR PEDESTAL. THE OLD RADOME WAS DISMANTLED 9 X1
AND THE NEW GEODESIC RADOME WAS IN AN EARLY 25X1
STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION THE PURPOSE OF THIS 25X1
MODIFICATION IS UNKNOWN; HOWEVER, IT COULD BE AN UPGRADE OF THE
RADOME TO A STRONGER MORE MODERN GEODESIC CONSTRUCTION. NO
PHYSICAL CHANGE TO THE TRY ADD A RADAR OR CHANGE IN DIMENSIONS
OF THE RADOME WAS DISCERNIBLE.
SARY SHAGAN LAUNCH COMPLEX B IS THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
AND TROOP TRAINING LAUNCH COMPLEX FOR THE ABM-1B (GALOSH)
MISSILE SYSTEM.
