26-METER AEROSPACE COMPONENT
RAMENSKOYE FLIGHT TEST CENTER, USSR
1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: THE 26-METER AEROSPACE COMPONENT IS IN THE
MYASISHC E AREA T RAMENSKOYE FLIGHT TEST CENTER, AND IS
PROBABLY BEING PREPARED FOR FLIGHT OPERATIONS.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: THE COMPONENT IS MOUNTED ON THE ORIGINAL
MODIFIED BISON B. BOTH MODIFIED BISON B ARE PRESENT.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS NOW DISCERNIBLE INCLUDE ONE LIGHT-TONED AND
TWO DARK-TONED BANDS AROUND THE BLUNT-NOSED SECTION OF THE
COMPONENT. ADDITIONAL LONGITUDINAL DARK LINES APPEAR TO
SEGMENT THE AREA BETWEEN THE TWO DARK BANDS. AT LEAST FIVE
BLISTER-SHAPED FAIRINGS ALSO ARE ON THE BLUNT SECTION OF THE
COMPONENT. BOTH THE 26-METER -METER COMPONENTS WERE
UNDER THE GANTRY CRANE THE 44-METER 25X1
AEROSPACE COMPONENT (NOT ON GRAPHIC) IS STILL UNDER THE CRANE.
(S/D) RAMENSKOYE FLIGHT TEST CENTER, ONE OF TWO MAJOR FLIGHT
TEST CENTERS IN THE SOVIET UNION SUPPORTING THE DESIGN,
DEVELOPMENT, AND TESTING OF NEW SOVIET AIRCRAFT AND
MODIFICATIONS TO EXISTING AIRCRAFT, IS 21 NM SOUTHEAST OF
MOSCOW.
