086-53-55W HAS BEEN DESTROYED 25X1
2. (S/D) REMARKS: THE STEEL TRUSS BRIDGE SPANS THE RIO NEGRO
APPROXIMATELY 1 NM SOUTHEAST OF THE TOWN OF SOMOTILLO. EARTHEN
ROAD BLOCKS HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THE APPROACHES AT THE NORTH AND
SOUTH ENDS OF THE BRIDGE, AND AN EARTH ROAD BYPASS CROSSES THE
RIVER IMMEDIATELY WEST OF THE DESTROYED BRIDGE. FOUR CARGO
TRUCKS (THREE ON THE BYPASS ROAD), AND ONE SEDAN ARE HEADED
NORTHWEST TOWARDS SOMOTILLO. THE TWO OTHER HIGHWAY BRIDGES, ON
THIS SAME ROAD BETWEEN THIS DESTROYED BRIDGE AND THE
NICARAGUA-HONDURAS BORDER, ARE INTACT.
SOMOTILLO IS APPROXIMATELY 3 NM EAST OF THE NICARAGUA-HONDURAS
BORDER.
