1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS/TRACKING ANTENNAS

HAVE BEEN INSTKE
LED HERE.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: THE REFLECTOR SECTION OF TWO 12-METER DIAMETER
DISH ANTENNAS HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED AND INSTALLED ON TWO ANTENNA
BUILDINGS SINCE JUNE 1981, HQWEVER, THE ANTENNAS DO NOT YET
HAVE THE FEED MECHANISM INSTALLED. THE ANTENNA BUILDINGS ARE
APPROXIMATELY 240 METERS APART. A CONTROL BUILDING IS IN THE
LATE STAGES OF CONSTRUCTION.
(S/D) KOMSOMOLSK SATCOM STATION NW IS APPROXIMATELY 15 NM
NORTHWEST OF KOMSOMOLSK. THE ANTENNAS AND CONTROL BUILDING
HAVE BEEN UNDER CONSTRUCTION SINCE AUGUST 1978.
