MISSILE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION APPROXIMATELY 3500
1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: A NEW SIX-POSITION SA-2 SURFACE-TO-AIR
2. (S/D) REMARKS: MOST OF THE CONSTRUCTION ON THE NEW SITE HAS
OCCURRED SINCE WHEN GRADING WAS FIRST NOTED FOR 25X1
TWO OF THE POSITIONS. THE NEW SITE PROBABLY WILL REPLACE THE
INCOMPLETE AL HUDAYDAH SA-2 SAM SITE SOUTH WHICH HAS BEEN UNDER
CONSTRUCTION SINCE JANUARY 1982 AND PROBABLY HAS BEEN
ABANDONED. NEITHER SITE IS OCCUPIED, AND NO SA-2 EQUIPMENT IS
OBSERVED IN THE AREA.
(S/D) THE NEW SAM SITE IS .8 NM WEST OF THE SOUTH END OF
HODEIDA AIRFIELD AND 3 NM SOUTH OF AL HUDAYDAH 25X1
ON THE WEST COAST OF NORTH YEMEN.
