1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: ARMS DELIVERIES, PROBABLY PART OF A
SHIPMENT -MANUFACTURED EQUIPMENT DELIVERED TO
NICARAGUA VIA ALGERIA, CONTINUE.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: FIVE POSSIBLE MULTIPLE ROCKET LAUNCHERS (MRL)
HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED TO RAMA. TWELVE BM-21 MRL AND OTHER
EQUIPMENT WERE LOADED ABOARD AN ALGERIAN BECHAR-CLASS MERSHIP
AT MERS EL KEBIR NAVAL BASE AND SHIPYARD IN
MID-MARCH 1982; AND SUBSEQUENTLY TRANSFERRED TO THE NICARAGUAN
RnT.T.-nN/RnT.T.-fFF CARGO SHIP "ARACELY" AT EL BLUFF PORT FACILITY
IF CONFIRMED, THIS WILL BE THE FIRST DELIVERY
OF MRL TO NICARAGUA. THE THREE GSP HEAVY US FERRIES
AND ONE POSSIBLE GSP, DELIVERED HAVE BEEN
LOADED ABOARD TRANSPORTERS AND REMAIN IN THE TRANSSHIPMENT AREA.
