1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: CSS-3 MISSILE ACTIVITY IS OBSERVED HERE
FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE OCTOBER 1980.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: THE CSS-3 ICBM ROLL-OUT-TO-LAUNCH TROOP
TRAINING LAUNCH CYCLE, WHICH HAS BEEN IN PROGRESS SINCE AT
CONTINUES AT JINGYU POSSIBLE SSM
R&D/TRAINING LAUNCH SITE B. A CSS-3 MISSILE ON AN
ERECTOR/SERVICE TOWER HAS BEEN MOVED ONTO THE LAUNCH PAD AND IS
ALIGNED WITH THE LAUNCH STAND. IN ADDITION, TWO PROBABLE
MOBILE LIGHTNING ARRESTERS HAVE BEEN POSITIONED ON THE PAD.
(S/D) A CSS-3 MISSILE WAS LAST SEEN AT THIS FACILITY PRIOR TO A
THE JINGYU MISSILE TEST COMPLEX SSM
) IS THE ONLY KNOWN CSS-3 ROLL-OUT-TO-LAUNCH
TROOP TRAINING FACILITY IN CHINA.
