SUBJECT: Per Diem Rate for Students Attending the
Army War College
1. Your approval is requested to change the currently authorized
per diem rate for students attending the Army War College at Carlisle
Barracks, Pennsylvania, beginning with Academic Year 1985/86.
2. Currently, the Office of Training and Education authorizes 550
of the full per diem rate ($50) or $27.50 per day for students who
attend the Army War College during the academic year and are accompanied
by their families. Students who are single, or do not take their
families, and occupy Bachelor Officer Quarters are authorized $23 plus the
BOQ rate, which is $293.10 per month. At the Army War College, the
individual occupying a BOQ receives arlarger per diem rate than the
individual who is accompanied by his/her family and must live in non-
Government quarters.
3. It is recommended that CIA adopt a more equitable per diem
rate of $33 for employees assigned to the Army War College during an
academic year.
