SUBJECT: Request to Host Luncheon for The Senior Seminar,
Foreign Service Institute, Department of State
1. You are invited to host a luncheon for the members of
The Senior Seminar on Thursday, 22 May 1986, from 1200 hours to
1330 hours, in the Executive Dining Room. The participants will
spend the entire day at Headquarters meeting with key Agency
officials.
2. The Senior Seminar (known in recent years as the Executive
Seminar in National and International Affairs) is the most advanced
executive development program for career officials of the United
States Government. The ten-month program has been conducted
annually since 1958 by the Foreign Service Institute (FSI).
3. The Seminar is composed of 29 members (including three
Agency officers), 14 of whom are from the Department of State.
The others represent Government departments and agencies with foreign
affairs responsibilities, and the five uniformed services.
4. It is recommended that you make some remarks to the group
at the conclusion of the luncheon. Prior to that date we will
forward a list of CIA officers who will attend, as well as the day's
program.
5. A brochure with biographic data on the members is attached.
