MEMORANDUM FOR: ,Agency Senior Training Officers
25X1 FROM:
25X1
Director of Training and Education
SUBJECT: Officer-in-Residence Program
1 MAR 1987
1. On 11 February 1987, a Headquarters Notice was
published announcing the Officer-in-Residence Program (OIRP). In response
to that notice, the Office of Training and Education has recdived inquiries
from 22 individuals ranging from curiosity to enthusiasm.
2. At the Senior Training Officers meeting on 5 March, it was agreed
among the officers present that the names of all of the individuals who had
expressed interest in the OIRP would be sent by OTE to the appropriate
Directorate Senior Training Officer. Upon receipt of the names, the Senior
Training Officer should contact each officer to discuss with him/her in
greater detail the type of program that officer wanted to pursue and what
specific school, if any, the individual had in mind. Attached to this
memorandum the list of names for your review.
3. After the Directorate has determined which individuals it wishes to
sponsor and fund in this program, the names should then be sent to the CIA
Training Selection Board for consideration. The TSB would like to have
five Officers-in-Residence in the 1987 program. The normal length of an
Officer-in-Residence Program is one to two years.
3. Please forward your nominations for the Officer-in-Residence
25X1 Program to ES-TSB, by 1 May 1987. Nominations should include
eight copies of (1) a brief description of the individual's proposed
program and (2) an updated biographic profile.
