REFERENCE: Your Memo, dtd 3 Dec 85, Same Subject
1. I have attached a November 1982 memorandum which established
a joint Office of Communications-FBIS board to review FBIS requirements
to be satisfied by INTERNET. I am satisfied that during the definition
and program approval phase of INTERNET there was thorough coordination
between FBIS and OC. While the essential need for this board has been
satisfied, I believe it will be worthwhile to meet periodically to ensure
that our programs are not at cross-purposes.

within OC. Please conside Chief, Engineering Support Group

This memorandum describes steps taken in response to your request
that a mechanism be established to assure coordination between the Office
of Cor ninications and FBIS regarding I N=NP requirerrcnts.

using conmrcial satellites to meet FBIS' requirements.
- Assure coordination of the i) study to be adertaken
by OC that is to focus on the feasibility of using Governrient
satellites to meet F3IS' requi ents.
- Review the results of the two studies cited above with a
view to insn-i^g.consistency to t .-.e extent possible between
