Approved For ase 2002/06/25: CI -RDP89B00569 0400130002-5 1 .61 UPD-2611 -1 15 March 1961 M EA1fl FOR: Acting Chief, tkirolopment Projects Division 25X1A SUBJECT : Commander's Report, Operatio~= BEFERENC;-; : Dispatch to Chief,. DPD from Cotmtsndar 25X1 A UCIA-OOH, dated 7 March 1961; Sub4 as 1. As requested this memorandum dews with paragraphs 3 and 12. h. of subject report. 2. Paragraph 3 raises the question as to relative merits of MATS and Troop Carrier Aircraft in support of fast me concepts. In discussions with Colonel Geary's office, MATS has the greater capability and is much more desirable in the support of fast move operations. All such movements carry a Priority 1 designation and the aircraft core rider is in contact with his headquarters at all times. There is no reason, in the event of an abnormal delay, td y the aircraft comas .er cannot request a replacement aircraft to assure meeting the operational requirement. To aid in accomplishing better support of fast move operations it is desirable that a date be established as a target date for the arrival of support aircraft. This then gives M a bettor feel for the backup needed in the event of aircraft being grounded on route for abnormal maintenance. 3. With respect to paragraph 12. h. of reference, this office concurs in the recommendation and such procedures will be a part of future operations Orders. 25X1A Chief, Materiel Staff DPD-DD/P Distribution: 0-ACDPD CIDPD/ B 1 - C/DPD/D6 1 - DPD/RI 25X1A MS/DPD-DD/1Mrs Approved For Release 2002/06/25 : CIA-RDP89B00569R000400130002-5
