1. I concur in the recommendations contained in the two referenced
documents but more specifically in memoraadum (SAPC-11632).
I would appreciate if the Contracting Officer would advise the Chief, Technical
Intelligence Branch through the Chief, HTAUTODrLAT, that we have not budgeted
for s computer of this type for the interpretation of AQUATONE take and that
we believe this requirement must be originated b HTAUTOMAT and handled
through normal channsis. I believe the re ly t should point out
that there is great uncertainty as to the o QUATONE photography end
as to the duration of the Project. Accordingly. both in determining and in
justifying the requirements for exploitation equipment, every effort should be
made to select items which will be of general utility in connection with the
processing of raw intelligence from many sources rather than limited in their
application to the product of AQUATONE.
