pilot were carried out on schedule. No mayor descrepencies-arm

The location of Tactical Air Armies and PUD~strong units should be.
forwarded for utilization by this unit.
No special pilot information concerning target or intelligence data
was acquired during this mission. The pilot reported little air

(3) Photo~r?anh~r Yazd photographic equipment -The ;oil.ot reported that all
throe (3~ camera inu~icator lights went out after 20 minutes of oper-
gtion. The mis,.ion Tras continued utilizing the tracker for a total
of six (6) hours. Operation of the tracker was satisfactory and
a;~proVi~a.tely 650' of 70mm t,r~,s expo A duplicate positive print
t~ras made. Post flight check of the, substantiated the report 25X1
of malone~~~:.tion during flight. This was evidenced by failure of the
I1~2C motor to drive the mo~ant~ thus resl~]_ting in no shutter trip
pulses any] consequently no exposures or in:~.icator pulses to the A-P-C
lights. .'~ 'etailed inspection into the ca~ise of this malfunction
indica~;~a. ~th~~t the h~IC motor drive shaft or armatltre was frozen tight.
Thi? co~_~..a be caused by ~ithcr a defective bearing or a shorted and
overheatei armature which had throt~rn solder thus allowing it to freeze
against the field poles. The associated parts of this Il~C drive
m^chanism were ins>pected~ ope,:'ated and. found to be in a normal satis-
