OXCART Costs
1. The following information Is submitted in response
ur telephone request of yesterday afternoon.
2. During the course of the Last six months many dif-
ferent cost estimates have been generated with varying
assumptions. I recommend you use, however, those figures
contained in a memorandum froml dated
16 June 1967. This memorandum indicates that if we phase out
as scheduled, the FY-6d cost will be 'dollars,
and that if we continue to operate for the entire fiscal year
and do not phase out, there would be an added cost of
for a total FY-68 cost of I We agree
with these figures, and since they have been formally sub-
mitted byl they are agreed figures among all concerned
parties.
3. So that you have a complete picture 1 snoul
however, that there would be a further cost of about
dollars for fuel and photographic material in the event we
continue to operate for the entire year. There will be no
increase in the Agency budget for FY-6d if the OXCART opera-
tion is carried through to the end of tne fiscal year.
