awaiting the DDCI's decision on whether to have an NFIC meeting or forward
the study to the NFIC members for telephonic concurrence.

- According tol the final results of the recent PMCD review
should be received soon; at the latest by Christmas.
? DoD has drafted a paper for the Working Group's consideration at its next
meeting on 13 December. It consists of a short review of ongoing DoD
intelligence activities in support of theatre commanders, and will provide
talking points against which DIRNSA's concerns can be measured. The paper
addresses on-going activities but it does not address architectural or
coordination concerns.
Combat Intelligence Analysis:
? Final revisions, reflecting CIPC guidance and comments, have been
incorporated into the follow-on narcotics report for the DDCI.
? Some 30 members of the narcotics intelligence community will be briefed by
ORD on 11 December regarding projected areas of research in support of the
narcotics effort.
Narcotics Intelligence Activities:
? There were no significant activities during the past week. The next
subcommittee meeting will be held on 12 December with a presentation by
Dugway Proving Grounds. One or more meeting is scheduled prior to the
holidays, on 17 December, with presentations by CIA, DIA, and ITAC.
CBW Intelligence Subcommittee:
? Carol also met with on 7 December to discuss on-going
subcommittee activities and the scheduling of future meetings.
FLASHBOARD:
? The FLASHBOARD network will be expanded to include the NSC staff, based on
a decision reached by Mr. McFarlane and Mr. Casey last week

Terrorism Study:
has been preoccupied this past week with the hijacking in
? Drafting continues on the Cruise Missile Status Report. The target date
for a completed rough draft is 14 December. Howard and Paul will fine
tune the draft during the week of 17 December and subsequently send it to
the working group for review and comment by 21 December.
Tehran. Work on the re-draft of the terrorism report is awaiting his
attention.
