MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD:
SUBJECT: FBI Participation in IBSEC/CSWG
1. On 31 July 1968 Mr. Sam Papich, FBI representative,
visited the undersigned and advised that he wished to add to the
information of the previous date that FBI's representative on
IBSEC/CSWG would be Donald R. Roderick. He noted that Mr.
Roderick was with the FBI's National Crime Information Center
(NCIC) and had a technical experience in the computer field. He
indicated that Mr. Roderick's alternate would be Dennis C. Lofgren.
The undersigned indicated that he would make appropriate note
of this for the Committee records and also take such steps as
necessary to see that each individual was placed on the conference
badge list.
2. Mr. Papich noted that either he or Mr. Cregar, if he
had returned by then, would like to attend the first meeting or
so to assist Mr. Roderick or his alternate in orienting them as
to the Agency. The undersigned indicated they would be welcome.
3. On 1 August 1968 the undersigned contacted Mr. Whitehill
and requested he check Mr. Roderick and Mr. Lofgren as to special
clearances and advise the undersigned so that appropriate clearances
may be requested for either since they had been named as principal
and alternate for IBSEC/CSWG. He agreed to do so and will notify the
undersigned. -
