Dear Mr. Webster:
Your November 20 letter to Director Wick concerning a potential
Voice of America worldwide broadcast on the protection of
communications and data processing systems arrived today.
Director Wick is away from Washington and I will bring your
letter immediately to his attention upon his return next week.
On November 2, 1987 Acting Director Marvin L. Stone responded
to General Odom's memorandum by stating that VOA has no current
plans to produce such a program.
I am including a copy of Mr. Stone's letter to General Odom.

Dear General Odom:
In the absence of Director Wick, I would like to thank you for
your letter dated October 13, 1987. Unfortunately, it only
reached the United States. Information Agency on October 29,
which accounts for the delay in my reply.
VOA did not broadcast a program on the protection of
communications and data processing systems, nor are there any
current plans to produce one.
Please be assured that we appreciate the concerns you expressed.
