memorial plaque and the purchase of Mr. Melzac's art. She showed a model of
the plaque and all attending approved the design. It was decided that it will
be placed to counter-balance the OSS plaque in the 1D-lE corridor (the east
side of the main courtyard). The contract for purchase of Mr. Melzac's art
has been written and will be submitted to him shortly.

7. Design Consultant, presented plans for wall decor in
the Route 123 visitor reception center. These consist of civil war scenes
(local area) photo reproductions for the walls. Samples were provided. All
concurred in this motif. -kill inform the Office of Logistics and
Security.

in creating the small but highly attractive garden at the South Parking Lot
near the path to the Southwest entrance to Headquarters.

9. There was a brief discussion of a portrait of the new DCI. While it
is somewhat premature, the Chairman will discuss the matter with the DDA.
There being no additional business, the meeting was adjourned.
The next Fine Arts Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, 14 September,
Headquarters Building, Room 7D32 at 1100. Please provide your suggestions for
agenda items t by COB Monday, 7 September.

Thanks for sharing with me the C.A.T. Air
America pamphlet about the memorial ceremony.
On 10 August the Fine Arts Commission dealt with
this topic. At that meeting a model of the Air
America memorial plaque was shown and its design
approved. It was decided that it will be placed
to counterbalance the OSS plaque in the 1-D/1-E
corridor (the east side of the main courtyard).
This plaque will be a miniature version of the
one shown in your pamphlet--minus the names and
dates.
I see no reason why you should not
informally advise interested parties that CIA
plans to do this.
