Dear Mr. Donnelly:
Thank you for your letter of July 14, 1987, regarding the
replacement of the first floor roof at the Central Intelligence
Agency (CIA) Headquarters Building.
The survey referenced in your letter has confirmed the basic
scope of work outlined by the CIA. The first floor roof has been
found to be in need of complete replacement. It is agreed that
this replacement should be implemented in a timely manner in
order to prevent the possible impairment of the CIA operations in
the areas below this roof.
Due to these findings, and in lieu of the rent payment
deduction proposed by the CIA, the General Services
Administration (GSA) has reprogrammed the replacement of the
first floor roof for accomplishment early in fiscal year 1988.
Procurement of this project will be initiated upon receipt of the
original contract drawings and specifications currently in the
possession of the CIA. Please have these documents forwarded to
Mr. Paul Chistolini, Assistant Regional Administrator for Real
Estate and Development, General Services Administration, National
Capital Region, 7th and D Streets, SW., Washington, DC 20407.
