SUBJECT: Biography
I have been asked for an updated biography that could be used with
outside audiences. The text through the middle of page 2 (my reassignment
to the NSC Staff in 1977) was cleared by the Office of Security for use in
my nominating papers for the Arthur S. Flemming Award in 1978. This information
was provided to the Flemming Award Nominating Committee, and much of it was
used in publicity releases associated with my receiving the award. The
description of my travels and duties subsequent to that time is completely
unclassified. Indeed, the Agency confirmed certain of my responsibilities
as Director of the Office of Policy and Planning during the spate of newspaper
articles about the reorganization this last summer. I would appreciate
your clearance of this biography within a day or two. Thank you.
