SUBJECT: Operating Funds for WSSIC
1. The request support WSSIC activities is reasonable and 25X1
appropriate. Committee operations have been supported over the years by the
sufferance of the parent organizations of the members, especially that of the
Chairman. In good fiscal times this is no problem, but as funds become tight
the Committee suffers. 25X1
2. One side benefit of the current reorganization plan for the IC Staff
is to create an administrative support mechanism for the DCI Production
Committees to include funding support. Although no funds are currently
budgeted for this purpose, we will attempt to meet WSSIC's needs, and those-of
the other Committees, as best we can from available funds. In the future, we
would include them in budget estimates. 25X1
