i Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/05/25: CIA-RDP89T01032R000100080010-1 SET 28 July 1987 Bob, 1. You will recall that the ADDI represented the DDI at~the last NFIB; he has continued in that role in covering the outcome of that meeting. As a ' result of the Anni c response to the proposed adjustments to the IE, we have made further adjustments to the opening paragraphs of the Discussion) moving the treatment of Iran closer to the opening statement and flushing out that discussion based on current intelligence--all the while preserving the main thrust of the estimate. We have coordinated the attached with John Helgerson and concur that the change improves the paper. 2. We plan to distribute the attached fixes to the NFIB Principals in the morning, explaining the adjustments and requesting their concurrence by the original suspense of cob Wednesday. Hopefully this will be behind us by NFIB Thursday, but if it is not, we may need to briefly address the issue at NFIB before we get into the two fast-tracks currently on the agenda: We would, of course, propose to thank the Community for their help in coordinating the changes at the outset of the meeting, if we do gain concurrence prior to Thursday p.m. Maj Gen Frank 6.
