Weekly Report
25X1 4. has completed his survey of NPIC
communications requirements. On 28 July he briefed the D/CO and
D/NPIC on his survey and made the recommendation that, in view of
impending major changes in NPIC communications activity, OC should
assume an expanded role in supporting NPIC communications
programs. That recommendation is now being considered by NPIC.

SUBJECT: Weekly Report
5. The D/CO and a member of the OC Communications Security
Division met with Mr. Carl Brown, Executive Secretary of the
National Communications Security Committee. The D/CO used the
opportunity of that get-acquainted meeting to reaffirm the
Agency's support of the concept that there should be a "national"
cryptographic clearance (with polygraph interview) for all
civilian federal employees who have access to cryptographic
material.
8. A UTX-1200 secure telephone switch has been installed in
the Key Building, checked out, and accepted. The switch will be
placed in service when air conditioning is provided to the
Communications Equipment Room which houses it.
