Weekly Report
3. A Contingency Configuration Plan which establishes
minimum standards of contingency readiness for CIA communications
facilities has been promulgated to the field. This is part of
the continuing effort to make the network as resilient as
possible.
4. At Treasury's request, members of the Domestic Networks
Division met with the Acting Director of Telecommunications,
Department of Treasury to assist him in developing standard
operating procedures for the Department of Treasury communica-
tions center.

5. At the request of the IC Staff we prepared an estimate
of the cost of operating the 1993 CIA communications network
under nuclear war conditions. The estimate included the costs of
hardening, modernizing, and constructing facilities as well as
providing life-sustaining consumables and facilities for o erat-
25X1 ina nersonnel for a 90 day period. The total cost came to
25X1 exclusive of personnel salaries and certain other
unquantifiable factors.
6. On 25 May the Director of Communications, the Director
25X1 of Information Services and the Deputy Di7ctor of Logistics
collectively cut the ribbon in a ceremony
which officially inagurated the combined registry serving oc ana

7. The D/CO presented certificates to the fifteen members
of graduating Telecommunications Assistant Class 1-83. Four
class members received out-of-cycle promotions based on
academic achievement.
