2. We were pleased to see three Office of Communications
employees recognized in a special awards ceremony on 17 February,
each receiving the Agency Intelligence

3. On 17 February 1984 members of the Management and
Liaison Staff and Communications Security Division, accompanied
by a member of the IC Staff, attended a meeting at the NSC to
discuss the draft of a new NSDD concerning Telecommunications and
Automated Information Systems,Security; the meeting was chaired
by Admiral John Poindexter, Deputy Assistant to the President for
National Security. While there was general agreement by all
participants concerning the need to enhance PD-24, there was also
concern with the haste associated with this endeavor. These
concerns notwithstanding, Mr. deGraffenreid asked that additional
comments be forwarded to Adm. Poindexter by COB 27 February so
that the next draft can be issued quickly.
