revisions to their research and development (R&D) planning
cycle and discuss two proposed initiatives (automated
training and text handling) of interest to the
Directorate. Although ORD expressed an interest in
undertaking a "handful" of requirements that have a clearly
defined practical application and are manageable from a
budgetary standpoint, it was apparent that the thrust of
this meeting-was to exchange ideas of mutual interest rather
than establishing a list of new initiatives.
