SUBJECT: Weekly Staff Notes, 9-15 February 1986
b. On 13 February 1986,1 lattended the
first meeting of a subcommittee (comprised of representatives
from Defense Communications Agency, Defense Communications
Engineering Command, Defense Intelligence Agency, Intelligence
Community Staff and Central Intelligence Agency) established to
study how to improve data base survivability. The meeting was a
comedy of errors as: a) the chairman was preoccupied with
preparation for an unscheduled TDY and de arted the building
after making the initial-introductions, b) three of the
organizations who are members of the. subcommittee were not
represented at the meeting, and c) most of the attendees were
unaware of the mission of the subcommittee, and were not
enlightened by this meeting. A second meeting is scheduled for
20 February.

d. The costing figures for the "FY88-92 New
Communications Services" for the Directorate of Administration
(DA) were received from the Office of Information Technology
(OIT). The costing sheets have been prepared for forwarding to
the DA for inclusion in their FY88 budget.

Satellite Communications Systems (MILSATCOM) Panel for wideband
communications on 11 and 12 February,

Pentagon on 20 February. A briefing on a proposed MILSATCOM
requirements process which addresses the Intelligence Community
is on the agenda.
