OL/FMD WEEKLY REPORT

1. Progress Reports on Tasks Assigned by or of Interest to
Senior Management:
None.
2. Major Events that Have Occurred During the Preceding Week:
a. Status of South Side Chilled Water Lines: Operations,
FMD/OL, is putting finishing touches on the draft report of the
panel analyzing courses of action regarding the chilled water lined.
b. Backfill Project: On 19 July, the Contracts Staff,
FMD/OL, issued to ten contractors an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for
renovations to the 4G corridor in the Original Headquarters Building
(OHB). Bids are due by 30 August. The estimated price range for
the work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Also, on 20 July, the
Contracts Staff, FMD/OL, issued to five contractors an IFB for the
renovations of the 4F corridor in the OHB. Bids are required by
18 August. The estimated price range for the work is between

c. New Headquarters Building (NHB): On 22 July, the
Contracts Staff, FMD/OL, opened bids for the renovations to Rooms
4C088"and 4C090, and renovations to the GJ Area. Both projects are
located in the New Headquarters Building. Contracts 'will be issued
to Hitt Contracting, Incorporated, and to Universal Craftsmen,
Incorporated, respectively. The work in Rooms 4C088 and 4C090.is
being accomplished for the Office of Training and Education, and the
work in the GJ Area is for the Office of InspeCtor General.

d. Jogging Track Project: As reported last week, Virginia
Power identified power and utility lines in the area where the
jogging track will be constructed. On 19 July, Byers Engineering
surveyed for telephone and sewer. On 20 July, Long Fence be .a
clearing brush to install the fence along Savile Lane.

44o.e.p,a44erms-, FMD/OL, received from SAIC Architects, Incorporated, the
final construction drawings, speci tions, and cost estimate for
the relocated Child Day Care Center (CDCC). -9-peritt-4-en-s-r-w4-1-1-4-a-lee-f740 41/IL
responsibility for construction; requesting construction bids, and 440
contract award no later than 15 September. The project designs have
also been submitted to the National Capital Planning Commission
(NCPC) and Fairfax County for their review and approval, which is
expected no later than 30 September. A proposal will be requested
from SAIC Architects for construction submittal review and for
periodic inspection and post construction service.

19 July, professional conservators cleaned and restored all
paintings permanently displayed in Headquarters public areas. Some
of these paintings, which have a total value of $350,000, showed
some evidence of damage in addition to normal soiling.
h. On 22 July, Allied received a quick start memo for a
renovation in 7D39 OHB for the Deputy General Counsel for
Intellioence Onerations. The deadline date of 25 July was met.
i. Allied received a quick start memo to replace 13 light
poles and eight fixtures in West A lot. The work was erformed on
23 July by Allied's subcontractor, Kelley Electric.

1. On 26 July, FMD representatives traveled to New York
to make an award fee presentation to Ogden Allied. Although the
overall evaluation is generally favorable, specific areas for
improvement have been identified and included as goals for the \
fourth quarter evaluation period (1 July - 30 September 1988).
