set a prelinnnarv hearing in the
Rexkald case for Friday.
Re>>ald's attorney, Brook Hart,
did not ask that Rewyald's $10 mil-
lion hail. the highest ever set in
tlassaii, be revoked. Hart said
later it ""ouldn't make much dif-

ing all of Rev,aid's assets.
Asked if he was concerned
thou( It-Sald's well-being in
prison, because of Rewald's previ-
ous suicide attempt and his de-
jected appearance in court this
morning. 11,11-1 said he is always
concerned about his clients
"He's handling the situation the
best he can under the circum-
stances." Hart said.
REWAI.D HAS BEEN in police
custody since his arrest Morulay
night after his release from
Queen's Hospital. Rewald had
been in the hospital since he cut
his v%rists in a Waikiki hotel room
on July 30.
He was charged yesterday with
two counts of theft by deception
and bail seas set 5.000 times high-
er than what is normal in theft
cases. The bail %%as approved by
Circuit Judge Robert Won Rae
Chang apparently because sonic
$17 million in assets of Rewald s
bankrupt company, Bishop. Rald
will, Rewald. Dillingham & Wong,
are unaccounted for.
Hart said he would still seek a
hail reduction hearing. but not
right away.
About the bail, Hart said yes-
terday. "The community is get-
ting pretty heavy on this nian
before they know all of the
f acts.",
