Torricelli (D., N.J.), who are traveling through Central America. said in an interview Satur. day in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, that they are convinced the United States is trying to topple the left-wing San. dinista government. "It is clear that we are involved in an overthrow attempt and that the aid we are giv. ing is not to prevent the flow of arms from Nicaragua to Salvadoran guer- rillas," Bedell said. The men left Honduras for neighboring Nicaragua after a two-day visit with a delega. tion that included Robert White, for. mer U.S. ambassador to El Salvador.
